The background was to provide an energy statement to support a reserved matters planning application for the new Lionel Road development to be built around the new football stadium.  Alongside this, the redevelopment of the existing Brentford FC into residential units was to be covered in a separate energy statement.  All residential and commercial development required both Code for Sustainable Homes and BREEAM Assessment.

An energy strategy outlining how the developments would achieve a 35% reduction in CO2 emissions following the London Plan 2015 energy hierarchy of ‘Lean, Clean, Green’ was required.  (Energy statements were carried out for both Lionel Road and Griffin Park).  All sites were to be compliant with CfSH level 4 and BREEAM ‘Very Good’.

Stroma Tech provided an Energy and Sustainability Statement to ascertain baseline energy demand for the sites and a percentage reduction against each stage of the energy hierarchy to achieve an overall site CO2 reduction of 35% against Building Regulations Part L.  Pre-assessments and initiating CfSH and BREEAM pre-assessment.
