Building Compliance Assessment >>
Stroma’s acoustics division is capable of assisting projects from design through to completion. As our team of acoustic engineers is dispersed nationwide, we are able to keep lead times to a minimum and offer highly competitive fees.
Our experienced acoustic consultants can liaise with the design team at all stages of a project to ensure that compliance requirements are considered from the outset, and thus achieved comfortably and economically.
Stroma carries out sound insulation testing to meet all regulatory standards (Part E, Section 5, proposed robust details, EcoHomes, Code for Sustainable Homes (CSH), BB93 etc.) Our team has extensive experience of carrying out tests in buildings of all conceivable sizes and types.
In the event of non-compliance, Stroma Tech can also identify and advise on the appropriate remedial measures for bringing substandard structures up to the level required for compliance.
We can carry out Environmental Noise Assessments to satisfy the following standards:
Stroma can provide assessment and consultancy to address a range of issues related to building acoustics, including:
Acoustics-related BREEAM credits are available, under Hea 05 and Pol 05, for most types of BREEAM Assessment. Stroma Tech can assist with obtaining these credits by providing:
Stroma can bring your designs to life using our Acoustic Modelling and Simulation expertise. We use innovative computer-based modelling techniques to predict noise levels and indicate them on architect’s drawings. We can also advise on the acoustic performance of rooms and spaces to optimise occupier comfort.
Whether a single residence or a major accommodation programme, we can assist your design teams by creating virtual project scenarios, using the design details to calculate the environmental noise breakout, ambient noise level and internal acoustic environment. Also our modelling experts can construct virtual street scenes, predicting how the build would impact on the existing noise environment.
